The skiing is extensive and far better connected than it used to be. New lifts in the last 3-4 years have dealt with troublesome bottlenecks meaning that lift queues tend to be minimal even during peak season.
Transfer times are about 3hours from Geneva, although Zurich and Milan are other arrival options (3.5hrs & 4hrs respectively). It is also possible to hire a private carriage on the train from Geneva to Zermatt – rated as one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world – making for one of the most luxurious and exclusive transfers possible.
