St Anton - Powder Snow & Apres-ski
St Anton is a phenomenon. Incredible skiing, consistently good snow record, fast and well thought out lift system, large inter-connected ski area, great mountain restaurants, comfortable and luxury hotels PLUS the best après-ski and nightlife anywhere.
St Anton is far more than just a party town, but it does party exceptionally well. The legendary Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaruh après-ski bars, located up the piste from the town centre, have been the scenes of many immortal celebrations [just search on YouTube for the innumerable number of videos posted by revellers]. From there, the party tends to move via restaurants or chalet dinners to the numerous bars in town before ending up at the notorious Kandahar nightclub. If you have a lively group looking to party, then St Anton is indeed the perfect destination.
However there is far more to the town than this. There are exceptionally high quality hotels and even the 3star properties tend to have above average facilities. Combine that with the famous Austrian “Gastfreundlichkeit” (hospitality) and there is no surprise that St Anton is one of the most popular destinations amongst the discerning Corporate Ski market.
With a great snow record and a genuine mix of terrain, St Anton offers something to suit all levels of skier or snowboarder. In addition, the sister resorts of Lech & Zurs are a short minibus ride away, offering even more sensational skiing and quality on-mountain dining.
Transfer times vary depending on the airport chosen. Innsbruck is less than 1hour away from St Anton, so is perfect if the right flights can be found. Otherwise Zurich is only 2hrs 15mins away, Friedrichshafen 1hr 30 and even Munich is only 3hrs 30mins (on a good day).
